A handful of bees at baseball
Following Sunday's story about bees stopping a baseball game, here's another interesting baseball bees reference:
When it's cold, a pitched ball can feel like a brick when it's hit. Sure, the players use aluminum bats, but don't be fooled. Hit a ball outside of the “sweet” spot on a cold day and you still get a hand full of bees. Those bees can stick around an inning or so, impacting how well a player can field or throw a ball.I've never heard this metaphor before. It's a good one! I think any ball game player will relate to it.
